The good: John Walker has a major role AND gets to call out Falcon for being a piece of shit towards him.

The bad: John is going to be joined at the hip to Brie Larson as far because John/Carol are becoming a couple and most of John's scenes are with Carol.

Disney has decided to basically use John as their last ditch effort to get Carol over with fans. They know John is popular so they are going to have Carol stand up for John when Sam tries to bar him from being involved in the plot of Doomsday and having John's back when he calls Sam out when Sam keeps harping on John killing a terrorist. They will kiss and there will be a scene with Hulk and Wong where both of them will immediately take to John because of Carol endorsing him as a good guy and tell Sam to shut up because he's tarnishing Cap's legacy with his pettiness.
