If you look at hotel rates in the upcoming week or two, they have come way down. Hotels aren't really budging on anything more than a couple months out though. They're either buying into their own false narrative about muh conventions muh hot weather, or they're so fucking cynical that they refuse to drop prices now because if by some miracle it's just a 6-8 week lull they pray it is, which it obviously isn't, they can't take the chance of renting out rooms now that they can get more for later if things turn around. God forbid they gamble on the ROI of a little customer goodwill.
