What inspires me is not necessarily a visual goal but the things Greek philosophers(mostly Socrates) said about physical training and the betterment of one's self.
>Gymnastic as well as music should begin in early years; the training in it should be careful and should continue through life.
>My belief is, not that the good body by any bodily excellence improves the soul, but, on the contrary, that the good soul, by her own excellence, improves the body as far as this may be possible.
>No citizen has any right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training: it is part of his profession as a citizen to keep himself in good condition, ready to serve his state at a moment’s notice. What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever having seen the beauty and strength of which his body is capable!
