I often get asked why I am in a thread of people half my age. Because others view a gay thread as a hook up spot (gaygen of all places) they assume I am also and a perv.

But if you seek banter where non heterosexuality is a premise that doesnt need discussed and is assumed, where else would you go? Here, no one asks about the gf, or for explanations, and you dont get that "oh..." reaction in mid conversation about life, or a bunch of pseudo liberal sympathy. In gaygen, that is never a distraction. Outside this thread, you have to explain again, and again, and again...

4chan is getting older. Way older. In time, it will be tantamount to Facebook. Its familar to older people now, or more accurately, people who got older. So its only natural that such people are going to remain where they began. I myself spent half a generation on /int/ and another half on /pol/.

Theres also a unique factor that many people my age saw the internet born, and 4chan was a major part of that new online culture that emerged while other major websites disappeared during that time.

You dont have to like it, but thats what it is. And if you think this is bad, look at how your apps are aging.
