Well this is the point. As the current recession transforms into a depression, the greater the odds of societal collapse is at home. To an extent, some of this is already priced in given the volume of outstanding debt which already exists.
The Ruskies have been able to dodge the appearance of economic collapse by living off of unpayable credit which has also resulted in enormous inflation.
You and other ziggers kid yourself into thinking this is some kind of 'Great Patriotic War' round two. It isn't. Russians aren't motiviated to sacrifice everything for this war. Ordinary Russians know and understand that this is an imperialistic landgrab for no material gain. Russia as a state isn't facing grave peril like it did in 1941.
There are costs that Russian society are not willing to put up with, and the government knows this. Why do you think they keep interest rates so high? Why do you think there are such generous payouts for joining the war? And why is Putin so deathly afraid of mobilising despite a million zigger casualties?
