Hot take: ass ladders are completely fine, enemies that are trying to use ladders are vulnerable to spells, ranged attacks or units you send outside the settlement and people are completely overblowing how strong they are when they say they "trivialize" sieges. Maybe they could cause more vigor loss but they were never a problem with sieges besides them looking silly, the complaints about ass ladders are coming from redditors tards that repeat the same talking points over and over not realizing how much worse the game would be without ladders.
Look at the dogshit sieges in medieval 2 for example: The AI ends up dropping them and running around the walls for 50 minutes doing literally nothing as you shoot them.
The real problem with sieges is the lack of unique siege equipment for the various races that should have them, how inconvenient it is to build siege equipment in the first place, the atrocious unit pathing in a lot of siege maps and the AI being retarded.
The fact that they're even considering REMOVING something that 1) works and 2) is the only thing the AI uses properly in sieges and 3) make sieges bearable is madness.
What would removing ladders achieve besides making players hero spam more?
