As for the executive being granted authority to influence immigration policy unilaterally, then why are the DOJ lawyers arguing FOR the allowance of visa immigrants spouses to work any job they want? His admin was arguing this in court even back in 2020, that the spouses of visa immigrants who are here on a H-4, which does not allow them to retain employment, be allowed to seek employment.
So either Trump is trying to get a ruling to let more immigrants apply for US jobs or he wants a ruling that makes the rules set by congress the final authority.
