That wasn't his message. Denji wants quite a lot actually, and Makima wasn't removing "all the things that suck", just the things that she personally thinks suck.
Ultimately it wasn't Denji who made the call to off Makima, but Pochita. That was the real soul crusher for Makima, that Pochita was a sentient being, and that he believed she was better off dead.
