I'd be upset too if my parents insulted my existence by celebrating my eviction after years and years of dsdainful hints. It's like salt on the reopened wound. The ultimate slap in the face. Massive disrespect of the child.

There is no rationalizing the hate such parents have for their own children, by doing this. It's just painful and wicked. The life-lesson is: You were never wanted, nor loved...we celebrate your pain, suffering, and wish only that you hurry up out the door so we can criticize you from behind it.
