IWM is only just now starting its rally past 200sma. this market may go higher yet. removing the cost basis may be wise risk management but like you said selling too early is fear motivated. you find yourself in the position now where you have a chance to actually make it. the share price is over $1 now, next step is 2 then 4 possible a $10 stock at some point. perhaps your stock has not even taken off yet.
why not take cost basis at $2 then just let rest ride for 2-5years or when the small caps rally actually begins in earnest. you'll see the trade deals will come in favorable, fed will cut rates. small caps will soar.
people are far too pessimistic about shit that doesnt even matter. if it doesnt work out well you wouldn't have known regardless, but in your position you will hate yourself for not sticking to the plan or holding conviction if you miss the opportunity. you will make it.
