So far i enjoy this story. The prose is very good, descriptive and evocative without being too purple and the atmosphere is great. The mystery persists but it's not one of those stories where the real and metaphorical fog gets too thick and you can't understand what's going on at all. More and more details about Rosey's life are being unveiled, the missing memories find their places, and it's good. Also, this limbo Rosey is in is a pretty interesting idea, how she wanders around, slowly losing her memories and not noticing that weeks and months go by unless someone like Pinkie anchors her to the real world by interacting with her and begging her to remember – interesting stuff. I wonder if all dead ponies go through this or only select ones who still need to do something in the living world before moving on. I only hope the story doesn't end up being just a simple family drama where Rosey died because of some accident and that's it, i hope it goes deeper than that. What really happened? What's up with Pinkie? Is she really Pinkie at all? I am excited to learn about that.
Initially i wanted to complain about... too little Pinkie in that Pinkie if it makes sense, about Pinkie being a little bit out of her character even considering the somber circumstances, but looks like there's something going on with her as well and she may be another pony entirely. Why is she the only one who can see Rose and other spirits? Maybe she is also dead, and is also beginning to lose her memories? I'm interested to see where it goes.
The thing i didn't really like is the fertility ritual scene. I don't mind there being a fertility ritual of some kind, but i just dislike the headcanon where ponies completely lose their heads during heat and can't even finish competing without turning the festival into a giant orgy. I'm not a big fan of such coomer Equestria.
All in all, i like it, but i really need to see the mystery unveiled so say anything conclusive about this story. I'm a sucker for mystery fics and looks like this is an interesting one.
