The biggest question comes to the forefront of your mind: What’s the next step?
“Phascomon and I have been talking. We’re not satisfied with just his Champion form. Where do we go from here?”
He lets out a harsh laugh.
“Now, here’s a girl with aspirations. You’re already lucky to be climbing so far, so fast. What’s the rush?”
”The rush is that heat has been coming down on us nonstop. Only a matter of time till something worse happens. We want to be out of the portal by then. We don’t have forever.”
“Most Digimon stop their growth at that stage, you know. It’s extremely rare to reach a higher level.”
“We have to try. Come on, isn’t there anything we can do? Like that Digi-DNA thing?”
“It’s not universal. Digimon have different paths they can take. You’d never be able to turn Phascomon into a Mekanorimon right off the bat.”
”What about ways to get stronger without Digivolving? I’ve been packing on my file size! But is that all?”
“Well.. I’ve heard of eggs that can trigger spontaneous evolution. But I don’t think it’s a great deal stronger than what you already have. You’ll just have to keep beating others and loading their data.”
Doc points upwards again, in an unmistakable gesture. You're on the roof, so he could only be pointing to The Tower.
“Of course, the stronger a Digimon you beat, the faster you grow. You want to hit Ultimate-stage? You'll want to start by defeating one and absorbing its data."
The idea of facing Cargodramon is terrifying. You'll need a whole team to take it down—and it won't be alone either. There'll surely be a whole armada of Commandramon inside.
"Seriously?!"
"If you can find the data from one, or some kind of information packet that's equivalent to it, you might be able to avoid a fight. But yes, that's the fastest way to climb up. Beating something ahead of your level."
