I've said this but with how things have been going on dev-wise, there's no reason to stick with the 2nd Encore storyline for SG2 and it's better to approach it in a Alpha 2/Night Warriors kind of way. Mostly the same game/roster/story but with overhauled elements, such as;
>Same story but all the characters storylines/backstories have been altered or given completely new storylines all together. During the story mode, characters will also have at least one piece of unique dialogue with eachother, fixing the problem of the characters not really "knowing" eachother the way SF characters know eachother.
>Gameplay is left mostly the same but some characters' movesets are updated/overhauled Umbrella style. Game's combo trials are also dramatically expanded upon and improved, with each character getting at least 15-20 trials, on top of the game having an actual ranked mode and the option to either play strictly 1v1 or normal SG. I would also include 2 new mechanics: A variation of snap back that's an alternative to push block that functions like SF6's Drive Reversal/UNI's Guard Thrust and a more traditional burst that functions like an actual combo breaker.
>Stages are slightly tweak either taking place at a different time of day or changed in very subtle way like the casino stage having different patrons and the removal of the Indiegogo backers. Music is also remixed, to match the DLC stages.
>UI/presentation will also likely be overhauled
>What remains of the 2000s edginess will likely be fully sanded out (it's kind of inevitable and also new timeline for the story) but 2nd Encore will receive a content update that undoes most of the June 2023 (the ones the can legally undo) and just slap a WB trigger warning upon booting the game for historical purposes.
