You are conflating distinct roles. Brahmins are not supposed to own land. That responsibility was assigned to Kshatriyas and, in some cases, Vaishyas. Brahmins are supposed to sustain themselves by begging for food from Kshatriyas and Vaishyas, a practice known as bhikṣā, which is considered an act of charity known as bhikṣā-dāna on the part of the giver.
You cannot change your caste simply by changing your name or even your profession. It is determined by your bloodline or ancestry.
