My mom has worked in one of these for her entire adult life (19 to she's almost 55) and I understand why she stays but I wish she wouldn't keep killing herself and doing free work
>mfw after the previous office manager retired they promoted the payroll lady
>mfw her daughters and their lazier friends have complete and utter immunity to any criticism and are believed unconditionally
>mfw the Dunning-Kruger late boomer in charge, who doesn't work in the office himself bar meetings that could've been emails, responds to photo evidence of the mountains of paperwork on said women's desks clogging the pipeline with "sit down and shut up, she's your boss you do what she says, 10 points from [anon's mom's department of three people]"
I wish I could help her but she's worked through two coup d'etats and it always just makes things worse
