The career guy who loses is job and ends up destitute calls so much more the attention of others, even though it's much rarer.
For every case like him there are dozens of bums that ended up homeless after years of leeching others, and nobody cared because they deserve it.

I never claimed that working will guarantee you having your needs met, but not working guarantees you're ending in the gutter.
