I'm 43 and she is 19 now.
I'm too lazy to greentext it right now, but basically I wasn't actually around her the majority of her life. I was in the military, knocked up her mother and we decided that she would raise our daughter since I was never home. I kept in contact with my daughter throughout her life (phone calls and video chats), so she knew who I was.
After I left the military, I moved near her so we could start to spend time with each other. Long story short, one night she admitted she loved me (in a non-daughter way), and after I calmed the fuck down about it we started seeing each other.
I'm about 95% certain my ex knows about it as well. We've never actually talked about it, but she seems to be fully fine with her spending as much time with me as she wants. Apparently my daughter used to joke with her about how she was gonna marry me someday.
