I'd say that's not a hot take since you're not supposed to like him, but I know you mean you also just don't like his characterization in general and I kinda agree. He's too pathetic and should've displayed more asocial and violent tendencies. The way he's portrayed for the vast majority of the game that he is a moron or a liar (take your pick depending on your interpretation of his intentions) and every other characters sees through his bullshit almost immediately. I definitely would've preferred to play an actual scumbag villain than some weakling dude who is sorry for himself. Don't care if that makes me more shallow, it would have been more fun for a video game.
Also the town made him stupid
