As Deku needed gear shift to keep up with Shigaraki but Bakugou blitzed him with his quirk awakening, this alone makes him almost untouchable against Peter.
AP wise we can make Building size explosions like nothing, and physically he can harm EoS Deku with just his punches, but when he stores enough sweat he can legit produce city block level explosions multiple times, Peter might be able to survive one or two but he wouldn't be able to keep up with a guy that's faster than him and hits with enough strength to obliterate his city over and over again.
And the icing not the cake is that Bakugou is the opposite of Deku when it comes to Battle IQ.
The story tells us that Deli is a genius tactician but in practice he is just a brute that wins by punching harder.
