No, I think it's more about how EQG was an extremely radical departure from the franchise and her vision for it. She doesn't have a problem with teen girls doll line genre, but considering the whole identity of the My Little Pony brand is centered around, y'know, PONIES, turning them into humans is a pretty strange direction.

I wouldn't say that. Even though the main cast is basically just the Mane 6, DC Superhero Girls puts a lot more focus on the action and is much less stereotypically "girly". It's more a throwback to Faust's Powerpuff Girls days than another MLP or EQG. Still would highly recommend tho
