As a Muslim, I'm amazed at how the video game industry is full of subliminal messages directed against Islam.
I'm not talking about banal stereotypes (Arabs = terrorists), I'm talking about deliberately hidden details, concealed in the settings, sounds, artistic choices... as if some developers were subtly trying to associate Islam with evil, filth, fear, or ridicule.
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) — The Mosque in the Toilet
The Favela map contains a quote from the Prophet ("Allah is beautiful and loves beauty") framed... in a toilet.
In Islam, we don't even pronounce the name of Allah in these impure places. This isn't a mistake: it's precisely placed above the mirror, as a discreet provocation.
