>regular gaming group can be done with her intervening
yep, i am in a few vtuber discords and they ping each other or use the tag for gaming if they want to play something (like they ping people for strive, monhun, BRs). to be fair, you have to be looking at the discord at the right times to get into those gaming sessions, and having scheduled gaming sessions facilitated would be more inclusive. The same is done for impromptu movie nights (ie, posting they will host a movie, which a few people show up to comparative to vtuber movie nights)
>is she trying to force a community
couldn't tell you. Saru's discord is the largest one im in, and I was kinda active there a couple years ago enough to assume some might recognize my name. my personal opinion is that not only is the community large, but also i was under the impression there's a central clique thats hard to break into. I think the "force" is simply trying to make it more inclusive and make it seem less cliquey. im sure those guys dont want it to look cliquey even if they are a bit cliquey. generally what she's doing is good and i would have participated 2 years ago but im not looking for that anymore. the option of having it is good though, even if im only really looking for vtuber community interactions nowadays
