The cargocult anti-economic anti-system of capitalism has come for intel. Back in 2010~2015, when they were undisputedly on top, they wanted to make quad cores forever and charge an arm and a leg and just milk/maximize earnings because they could.
Why provide more cores for the same price when you can just sell the same number of cores, at nearly the same frequency and performance, for the same or more money. While reducing your production costs thanks to moving to newer production nodes which required a smaller surface area for the same number of cores. Back when they were offering worse value than they do now, and just coasting and milking their superior chip design and fabrication processes, they were more profitable and doing better and were seen as the superior and solid company, for milking and coasting.
Now they're slashing and cutting everything real. From constructing new fabs to researching and developing new nodes and, in general, having employees who make real things in the real world. They even fired part of their driver developer team, kek.
I am proven right, yet again! I'm starting to tire of being proved right again. It's fatiguing after a while.
