The main point of focus shall be the piece one is working on. straight lines make cleaning fast and easy and let avoid clogging of stuff/dirt in weird places. Not to mention possibility of affecting mood during the work which might be plus if you only work in certain aesthetics (still I would go rather for Victorian laboratory vibes minimalism rather than ornamented neogothic arches everywhere) but no so much if you do various styles for commercial purposes.
