Men fight for money that they will spend on women(if they live) or because they're forced to at gunpoint. Even the Taliban which could be used as an example for your brotherhood theory paid their fighters about 200 bucks per month(which was actually decent amount of money over there) and irregular large bonuses and they had the right of free looting, arranged marriages in exchange for service and housing for their families too.
They didn't just show up to fight with the duderino brotherhood. Most of them were simply there because it was a decent job opportunity with good benefits in a shithole country with no other opportunities, nothing more.
