pretty much yeah
BL3 is a perfectly good game as long as you ignore all the writing in the main campaign; the characters are insufferable and the writing is atrocious
the DLCs are written slightly better but still pale in comparison to BL2
I still prefer BL2's gameplay but I'd be lying if I said the modernized BL3 style isn't a lot of fun as well, faster pace and more twitchy feel does a lot to make it more engaging
