“Wooooow…” Kiclee lets out. “How did you do that?”
You smirk a bit, drawing the Muramasa one more time, looking down at it. “It was simple…” you make a flourishing slash in the air, then sheath it again. “…and clean.”
“Eeeee, so cool…!”
Mom also gives you an approving thumb's up, which you return. She then starts to talk with the others for a bit, making sure everything's all settled.
Turning to look at Null and Nemesis, you give a little nod. “Hell portals, huh? Think you could tell the Muramasa and I how to do that?”
“It knows already. It’s a matter of your willingness to work with it to use such an ability. It is your skill to truly master, both of you.” Nemesis responds.
“Neat.” You next move over to the inert body of the robot, its body still eerily intact, even kinda giving off a sense of energy, even without the shard of Janemba trapped within it. It’s just… inert. “That thing looked like it recognized you. Had some history with it? And… you gonna keep that thing, or what?”
“Fought it before. Alien machine, ancient, treacherous, developed a desire for power.” Null responds, shaking his head at it. “A fool to the end. But not one I should leave for other madmen to find.” He picks it up, then casually tosses it over to Nemesis, who catches it with equal ease.
Bra gives him a sad smile, starting to say, “I’m… sorry-”
“Stop apologizing.” Null asks firmly and bluntly. “…I know you aren’t her. Don’t try to speak on her behalf.” Bra just closes her mouth and nods.
“So, you DO have Garlic Jr. trapped in Hell now. Is that like, a good idea? I mean I don’t doubt you guys could keep him in check, he’s basically an immortal punching bag to people at your level of strength. Hell (heh), it’s actually kinda funny, he gained immortality and still got sent straight to loserville, I don’t really know where a better place to put him might be beyond that Dead Zone again. That and he can probably keep some of the more ambitious demons in check when they try to challenge him for dominance or go after the tree’s fruits…” You rub the back of your neck. “What I mean is, any other place you guys might need help tossing ol’ rancid Garlic Sauce?”
“We can handle him.” Nemesis declares confidently, then turns to look toward the sky. Dusk is starting to give way to night here, with the first few stars peaking through. Hefting the sword around, the slime creature in it looks up in wonder, and you can almost get the sense that the warrior shares in that feeling.
Null looks up as well, and yet you feel almost a sense of melancholy with him instead. He looks at Bra again, telling her, “There’s… much work that still needs to be done. But should the need arise, I’m willing to answer the call… sister.”
Bra’s smile returns, genuine and happy this time. “Until then.”
