Polling from the last few days shows when they ask in soft terms "Should Iran be prevented from making a nuke?" the vast majority say yes. When the poll asks in stronger terms "Should the US be involved in stopping Iran from making a nuke?" the vast majority say no. The independents especially will look at this as a big betrayal.
