This anime was at times too real of a depiction of a relationship between a psychopathic abuser and someone without the emotional maturity or experience to know how to set boundaries, innocent and easily abused. A story as old as time. Even after Konoha-san begins to treat her kindly she still subjects her to ridiculous mood swings, Satoko-chan can never be sure if Konoha will wake up tomorrow treating her like garbage again. The Roboko situation was the hardest watch, it was glaringly obvious to anyone that Konoha knew Roboko was not Satoko but she still managed to somewhat gaslight her into believing such an obvious lie and then proceeded to spend an episode treating another the way Satoko dreamed she was treated, all while knowing that she was watching. You may think Satoko is immune to all this because she's too retarded to realize, but the fact that she's clearly still conflicted about the whole thing and regularly brings it up, either still feeling inadequate and comparing herself to Roboko or just mad about Konoha telling Roboko all her secrets, it pains me to my fucking heart. Satoko-chan is willing to forget evererything so long as Konoha-san is treating her well that day but things are piling up and wearing away at her very soul without her realizing. This work is a psychology masterclass. That this relationship between two mentally defective people, these all too real situations, are delivered through a silly premise about ninjas and assassins, is pure genius.
