while i disagree lucifer is satan, you are correct in the role of the satan aka adversary. he works for God, it says so in the book of job. it also says un isaiah that all good and all evil proceed from him. you are right there is no free agent bad guy deity who rivals God for power.

the verse in isaiah about "lucifer" is about nebuchadnezzar, not some rebellious angel.
generally speaking, in the occult jesus and lucifer are the same thing. in the gospel of truth, a gnostic writing, jesus says he was the serpent in the garden who brought enlightenment to mankind. gnosticism is very influential on the occult, witchcraft, masonry, etc.
essentially the idea is that God is imperfect, flawed, or even downright evil, and that jesus came from the "true god" above to liberate mankind from the horrible world of creation.
