Too much modernity in this anime. Bathingcensorship, original change or otherwise a 1:1 adaptation using towels here is an insult to otaku.
At the very least another bathing scene that aired in the same day from a different show didn't use towels while bathing until they were finished (or interrupted and stopped bathing) for that regard
