Probably because being able to field equipment equivalent to what American was using during Desert Storm is still beyond the abilities of any other country. DS was basically the first war where space was a theater. A massive 3 day air/space campaign created total air dominance, and even when the air support was unavailable, US armor shredded the best equipment that the USSR was willing to export with ludicrous K/D ratios. A stomping so bad that to this day, third worlders whine that the highway of death was a war crime. Test-tube-gub-gub-snailmen are acting like there would be meaningful amounts of drone warfare against armor after the sort of aerospace campaign that the US can wage in 2025. They just don't get it.
The F16 is a great example too. This thing was first fielded in 19 fucking 76. 7 years after Apollo 11. By this time next year, this plane will have been on the scene for 50 YEARS. FIFTY. FIVE ZERO. By any comparison to other American hardware its a dinosaur, but yet, the promise of transfers of F16s to Ukraine was enough to make Putin scream and cry on national television about how unfair it all was that poor innocent Russian aviators have to go up against a FIFTY YEAR OLD US design.

The Chinese will probably try to go down swinging, unfortunately. Russia is just so unbelievably doomed. The sanctions aren't going to go away once the war ends and Europe is writing them out of their energy mix. They were staring down population collapse even before they started the meat grinder war. Their tech education sector imploded with the USSR. Their only path forward is as a semi-pariah state the US keeps on life support to wield against the Chinese.
