Humanity's excessive destruction of natural habitats actually benefits swallows, who enjoy open areas. Male and female barn swallows look identical, with the female's tails being shorter. These lovable birds have used our infrastructure to make their nests in for a very long time, so they've got a close and somewhat friendly relation with humans.
