Wuk Lamat is universally disliked because she's just hamfisted into being the main protagonist over you AND she's poorly written.
A poll taken last year placed Wuk Lamat below the top ten most popular characters in Dawntrail. She's not even the most popular character named Wuk in the expansion. She ranks below a raid boss with maybe seven lines of dialogue total (Honey B. Lovely). And this is purely from JP players, so the excuse of people just hating the tranny VA is not valid since Wuk Lamat is voiced by an actual female in JP.
