/@/ is one of the older generals, and it originated during the middle era of 4chan. Essentially, in early 4chan and golden age 4chan yuri was OK/popular. Then in 4chan's middle era, especially on /a/ (where this general originated), yuri posters centered around a few specific series like Madoka Magica became totally unbearable. To the point that most of them got ran off the website. Most people who showed up in the tourist era of 4chan after 2014 do not know about this, but it's why people all over the site seem to irrationally hate yuri.
