the whole conflict is based on the Stormcloaks wanting to worship the deified dragonborn emperor. Surely they would prefer to be ruled by a Dragonborn? Part of why people like Ulfric is that he can use the Thu'um, a couple of NPCs compare him to Talos because of it.

Talos is a real god and that's CANON! Oblivion main quest proves it. Besides, Talos is based. Tiber made the elves seethe over his cool mech for thousands of years, and Wulfarth was a great leader who achieved many supernatural feats without even having to murder his friends for the heart of a god, like the fraud dungmer ELF "living gods" did. Anything bad you can say about Talos is only true of Tiber/Hjalti, and that was all presumably fixed when Zurin Arctus joined the oversoul. The Talos Cult was even more based for trying to murder Tiber's gay descendants. I wish the Red Templars made it in to one of the games. Altmer are gay inbreds with Habsburg chins, and even the coomer waifu posters ITT can not make them attractive. Also their religion is retarded.
