This happens sometimes (and is clearly the proof of good taste of everyone involved, duh!), but I agree with everything you said, more or less.
>Initially i wanted to complain about... too little Pinkie in that Pinkie if it makes sense
Yes, but the fic seems to deliberately lampshade it right at the start, so I also decided to not complain about it until more of the mystery is revealed.

>you thought there were two carrot ponies?
Well, if it helps, the show has multiple copies of her in many of shots, so you can cope and argue that they are separate ponies. People did that a lot for Minny / Colgate.
>I was going to say it was done fairly tastefully, but chapter 4 uppercut me with how horny it all became
Haha, yes. One of my very few notes says literally, "weirdly pagan after the cuuute romance chapter, wtf". But it was done at least somewhat respectably (no, the tents full of ponies having almost-public sex aren't tasteful, and neither are the descriptions of all the smells, but it's fitting for Rose's perspective in that chapter), and the author is decent enough to sell the idea without losing me entirely.
>more fics need ponyisms like tail flicking and ankle crooks, but maybe not to the extent that this one does
Agreed on both, but for me, the "too much" part was mainly shown in how overpowering and central the heat season is to them.
>Explain yourself.
I would guess that it's the fact that the fic is about a mare from the show shipped with an OC.

>Maize
This was good! Really good, even! Damn.
The horror depictions were extremely evocative (the fic aimed for that visceral, brutal kind of horror, and actually pulled it off), the mystery kept things interesting and felt appropriate, the "villain" as a force of nature and its intentions that we can see but not fully understand—it all just works! And despite being so far away from the mood of FiM, it doens't violate the setting; it felt appropriately fantastical, like a real part of the world's lore. I'm over a week late so I won't spend too much time on it, but it was one of the better "pure" [Horror] stories we've read, imo.

>And why did aj make it out after 3 years?
AJ understands and respects the field. Twilight didn't, and fought against the laws of nature, and she was consumed as a result.
>And most of all why is it evil?
I don't think it is evil. Or at least, it doesn't consider itself evil. It does not really fit within pony morality systems, and it's older than those besides.
>Also wtf are Flim & Flam doing here
Like Twilight, they were unicorns who in their arrogance thought they could manipulate the field with their magic and paid the price for it.
