A Ballad for Slayers & Mosters by Rita A. Rubin is a fun adventure romance with likable characters and great action scenes. The prose isn't exactly amazing, but it's clear and concise and while the plot is predictable, it was enjoyable. The romance in this book feels very genuine and it has a big muscle woman which is hot. Where this book falls flat for me is the relationship between the mc and the antagonist, we are supposed to believe they have this deep bond as sisters but it doesn't feel significant in the way it should. 7:10

I agree the romance in that book came on too quick, too strong and when it came it was extremely generic. I rolled my eyes when they kissed and one of them said "do you know how long I waited to do that?" It should have been much more understated. The sibling relationship felt way more real and vivid to me.
