They were seething about the German empire for centuries believing it was their greatest rival while in reality Germany never intended to take over the British empire because Germany is simply a land empire and not a naval empire so the rivalry was nonsense.
In WWI the British empire was extremely indebted to the USA and WWII the empire was completely financially ruined so even more debt to the USA. Then the final blow when the USA started their decolonisation efforts around the globe making the British a powerless broken state while the USA became the New naval global empire.
The British were really retarded and should have worked with us together instead of seething warmongering against us.
