I reckon it can be done but most likely you wind up having to work to get the house, and no gibs because no citizenship. I'm more concerned that upon leaving this country, ww3 is declared and the embassy contacts me to evacuate back to the UK or some abroad tax is levied upon me because that's what other economic migrants do, they transfer all the wealth back home. It really does make one think twice before making a permanent arrangement to leave. It's simultaneously the best place to live but with hellishly stupid corrupt laws to deal with.
In the turdworld, at least they honestly point a gun at your head and rob you blind, here, it's done with sophisticated laws and methods to slowly bankrupt you with the next crisis you never saw coming if you weren't paying attention.
