Tanabe is an EXTREMELY awful fit for Paper Mario.
Extrememely bad.
That doesn't make him bad perse, but he needs to work on games he actually likes and cares about.
He has been open about hating RPGs quite a bit from Super Paper Mario up to Color Splash at least.
I personally quite enjoyed Federation Force and think Nintemdo needs to keep it running. Make it into an IP that rivals and crubs stomps TitanFall. It has EVERYTHING there for that.
Plus he did good work on LM3, and Strikers Battle League was good fun.
So he has talent it just needs to be on more action or exploration based games....give PM to someone else.
Though yes, Retro needs to be fucking tard wrangled. Just like MercurySteam, Platinum, etc.
