The head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen called Ukraine a country that should be admitted to the European Union. She wrote about this on a social network in X.

Von der Leyen addressed President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and said that Europe will always stand by his side.

"For the sake of a just and lasting peace. <...> For the sake of a country whose place is in the European Union," said the head of the European Commission.
