Sandrone is either:

1) The last work Alain made before he died which has lived on for hundreds of years leading her to become a Fatui for some reason. (None of the engineers could create AI, but maybe he did in the end)
2) Is Alain in a sick twisted way living out an obsession with his sister via uploading his brain/memory into a robot
