imo it was a panic buy that cost more then it should have, but I can't hate on them too much. Back in 2017 we had no armored vehicles to speak of (and our military was by far the worst one of the three if we're being honest), and our need to fix that coincided with the bong wishes to offload a bunch of their stock.
While I can't speak of any personal experience (really the only armored vehicle I've had a chance to properly experience IRL is a Patria 6x6), they seem alright enough for our environment and for the type of warfare we expected to fight - asymmetric strikes, ambushes and whatnot. Ukrainians kind of even proved the validity of that with using Spartans (the APC variant able to carry 4 blokes) to carry Javelin teams, back before their war became a drone spamfest. Besides, we needed something to re-introduce our lads with when it came to armored vehicles.
We still could have done better imo, since Germany was still sitting on an assload of Marder IFV's they probably wouldn't have minded selling. But not worth crying about it too much now.
>drones are better for scouting
Yes, but we must remember they were bough in 2017, when drones were seen either as something to film weddings with or as something to bomb Yemeni weddings with.
