You're extremely oversimplifying things trying to act all smart but you're wrong
We made huge leaps in technology throughout these years. From throwing rocks and bashing with sticks to using bows, swords, cavalry, spears, catapults, trebuchets, crossbows, cannons, muskets, warships, guns, artillery, planes, tanks, mechanized units, drones etc etc
Even in 20th century and now in 21st century most of the casualties come from long-ranged attacks (not light infantry weaponry)
Abandoning all of what's been said above for the sake of gameplay and fun, Tynan COULD at least add actual futuristic weapons instead of the things we use now (even guns that will probably be replaced soon (not soon for us) like M4)
The fucking wiki lore even states that there are usable lasers and coil weaponry in the universe AND WE STILL DIDN'T GET IT
