A second season of Angelic Layer.
Misaki's mom retires. And Misaki is expected to take over as the face of the tournament and Angelic Layer as a whole. But she isn't sure she wants to return. Most of her friends insist she needs to. But she doesn't have much of a drive. She just wants to be with her mom and friends.
One day when practicing at Piffle Princess, she notices a new guy she's never seen there. And decides to help him learn about the game, like Icchan did for her. But amazingly, the guy is not only able to figure out how to move his angel faster than she does, he actually knocks Hikaru out of the ring. He then shows up again in the tournament and quickly becomes the next "sensational rookie".
Suddenly, Misaki feels like there might be a reason to keep playing Angelic Layer after all. And there seems to be hints at a growing relationship between Misaki and the new boy. Though Ohjiro is going to do everything he can to get in the way of that.
The boy's last name is Daidouji and his family owns a "rival" toy company.
