I've never been able to quite understand...
Why is it that people rally behind easy answers when there are none? Why do people rally behind some strong man that drives them off a cliff? Do we learn nothing from history, or are we doomed to fail as a species, killing each other violently for petty reasons and fallacious notions of supremacy and moral high ground, when the people put atop the hierarchies are allowed to do and be murderously criminal? Why can't justice be fair toward all? Do we learn nothing from history? Do we not remember how Mussolini went on for decades until his own people got tired of having the women raped and people who speak out forced to drink castor oil til they shat themselves to death? What did they wind up doing after 20 years of sadism? It turned back around on him and they hung him upside down and beat him like a piñata. Why do people bloodlust and do violence back and forth, is there no compromise for peace, or are we doomed to be a species that self destructs because all these nations fighting for supremacy against the other nations? Its absurd that people would admire Caligula, he fucked his sister and his horse, and he appointed his horse to senate. He forced the senators to give up their wives for public raping and declared himself a god. We don't need that kind of nonsense. One person murdering others and setting some arbitrary rules that if you don't abide by they force you to drink gallons of wine and stab your gut. We don't need that kind of crap going forward, how does that help the species at all? The universe is ripping apart and you're stuck in first gear, grinding over wedge issues that won't matter once the universe ends. There is so much more to life than hatred. I'm not trying to stir up anger or conflict. Just speaking. If we don't learn from history. we are doomed to repeat it. Nobody anywhere should strive to be murderers, regardless. Humans should strive to be above that archaic barbarism. We aren't cavemen.
