The final episode of "Beyond the Slope, the Blue Sky Spread Out," the first TV show for "Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora" (the official rival group to Nogizaka46), aired on the 25th on Fuji TV — but a post on the group’s official X account (formerly Twitter) has stirred controversy.
The show aired for about one year and eight months. Under the theme “Just focus on catching up to Nogizaka,” the group took on various challenges. However, the show concluded on June 25. Although the group has 23 members, only 11 appeared in the studio. When MC Shohei Osada of the comedy duo “Chocolate Planet” explained that the non-selected “Kumo-gumi” (Cloud Group) members were “absent due to preparations for a live performance,” the atmosphere in the studio turned somewhat awkward.
Then, on the 27th, the show’s official X account posted:
“It wasn’t a typical idol show, but there were things you could only see on Saka-Ao, and things we couldn’t do anywhere else. I hope it helped Boku-Ao grow. Now go out there, become a hit, and make the staff regret ending the show~”
This sparked a wave of reactions online, such as:
“So basically they’re admitting it ended because they didn’t get popular?”
“Can the official account really say something like that?”
“That wording is kind of awkward…”
“What’s with this weird jokey tone?”
“That post really surprised me — it feels off.”
“What’s the intention behind saying something like that??”
