Although there's a valid point to make regarding the stereotyping and lack of variation historically associated with Western depictions of non-Caucasian ethnic features, when the default style of an artist is already so naïve and minimalist that the eyes of most characters are drawn as either vertical lines or dots, there's not really a lot of options left cartooning-wise. How else can someone convey that a character has epicanthic folds without deviating from a very simplistic artstyle?
