>Chapter 18
>Tsumogiri or tedashi (karagiri)
TN: Tsumogiri is discarding the tile you just drew, tedashi is discarding a tile from your hand, karagiri is discarding a tile in your hand that's the same as the tile you drew (which makes it look like tedashi to your opponents). Most of you should know these already, and the JP terms are way more succinct, so I'll be using them.

>The beginning of a read

>What are the differences between tsumogiri and tedashi?
>For tsumogiri, the only information you give up is that the discarded tile is unnecessary in your hand.
>When you tedashi, you reveal that the tile discarded in the previous turn was less important, and the tile you drew now is more important than the one you discard this turn.
>In other words, it's possible to tell the relative importance of the now-discarded tile compared to the previously discarded tile.
